study and application
APPLICATION
The Bible teaches us that it’s not enough
to simply know God’s word. We must
intentionally allow it to change how we
live our daily life. We must create a rhythm
of studying the Bible and intentionally
applying its truth to our lives; it’s about
training ourselves to be a learner first. It’s
about improving our personal growth and
development as a Jesus follower. When
we take the position of a learner first, we
get the chance to think ahead and discern
how we will approach different situations
before we encounter them. Whether it’s
deciding on a career path or making a
decision about our character, values, or
morals, we’ll be able to recall what the
Bible teaches and how it can apply to those
decisions. Over time, a daily rhythm of
Study and Application will help us develop
a new inner strength and a new worldview;
a Jesus centered worldview.
STUDY AND REFLECTION
• Read the Verse of the Day.
• The verse says, “the word of God is alive.”
What do you think that means?
• God’s word provides truth that can help
us grow as people. How will reading the
Bible impact your everyday life?
