Sebring International Raceway has
long been regarded as a “Michelin
track,” and for good reason.
With its hallmark bumps, demanding
corners, heavy braking zones,
and long straightaways, Sebring
puts tremendous demands on
tires, and Michelin has been the
dominant performer at Sebring for
the past two decades.
Prior to the merger of the ALMS
and GRAND-AM that created the current IMSA WeatherTech
SportsCar Championship, Michelin teams won
the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring
a record 15 consecutive
times (1999 to 2013) with technical
partners, BMW, Audi, Porsche and
Peugeot prevailing during an era of
open tire competition.
Now, with the arrival of Michelin as
the “Of cial Tire of IMSA” and as the
tire of choice for 31 of the 35 FIA
WEC entries in the extraordinary Super
Sebring week, Michelin will literally
and guratively be everywhere.
Michelin has served as the Of cial Tire of Sebring for
many years, and the MICHELIN bridge over the
front straightway literally connects the fans to
the paddock.
Michelin is the only tire maker and one of just
ve manufacturers (Audi, Chevrolet Corvette,
Ferrari and Porsche) inducted into the Sebring
Hall of Fame.
And to ice the cake, Michelin teams hold the
records on the current 3.74-mile circuit for the
fastest qualifying (Marcel Fassler, Audi R18
e-tron quattro, 2013) and race laps (Sebas-
