Greetings IMSA Race Fans,
On behalf of the France family and the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), it is our honor to welcome you to
the 67th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts, the second round of both the 2019 IMSA
WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.
Already one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world, this year’s Twelve Hours of Sebring takes on added
signi cance as part of our seasonlong 0th Anniversary of IMSA celebration. This weekend we will pay tribute to 0
years of outstanding competition, worldclass race teams and drivers, unforgettable race cars and mustsee events.
If you’re new to IMSA and the WeatherTech Championship, welcome to the pinnacle of professional North American
sports car competition. If you’re a returning fan, you’ll notice a few changes this year, most notably with the elevation of
manufacturersupported aytona Prototype international (Pi) race cars, teams and drivers competing at the top of what
will be a fourclass structure.
The LMP2 class is prototype racing with cars eligible to compete worldwide – including the 24 Hours of Le Mans – and
driver lineups that include a mix of professional drivers and drivers who have achieved success in other walks of life.
In the GT ranks, the longstanding GT Le Mans (GTLM) and GT aytona (GT) classes continue to bring the world’s best
in GT racing to WeatherTech Championship fans. ust as in the Prototype, GTLM is for manufacturersupported race
teams, while GT is the ProAm GT category.
In another new development beginning this year, every race car will ride on Michelin tires as part of a new, multiyear
partnership between IMSA and the worldrenowned tire manufacturer. And speaking of Michelin, our newly renamed
IMSA MICHELIN Pilot Challenge series – with two additional classes of tremendous race cars – will take center stage on
Friday morning here at Sebring for the twohour Alan ay 120.
Among many can’t miss activities you’ll encounter this weekend are the fan midway, alldriver autograph session and
the prerace Fan Walk prior to both the Alan Jay 120 and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. Newcomers this weekend
will quickly learn that the fan access at IMSA races is unparalleled.
Be sure to get your hands on one of our Fan Guides, which has illustrations of each WeatherTech Championship and
Pilot Challenge race car in the eld. It’s a great quick reference to determine who’s who on the racetrack.
You’ll also notice digital displays on all race cars this weekend, which will tell you where each car is running in its
class at all times throughout every WeatherTech Championship and Pilot Challenge ontrack session. Also, be sure to
download the IMSA app for live Timing Scoring, onboard cameras and uptotheminute news and information.
The 12event WeatherTech Championship season will be broadcast in its entirety by NBC Sports, which launched a new,
sixyear broadcast partnership with IMSA at January’s Rolex 24 At aytona. Race fans are already wellaware of the
unique and entertaining way NBC brings motorsports to life on NBCSN, CNBC and the agship NBC television network,
and we are thrilled to call NBC Sports our home for the next several years.
Thank you again for joining us. Please enjoy the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and the entire 2019 IMSA season.
Best Regards,
