Advocacy &
REALTORS® Political Action Committee
The REALTORS® Political Action Committee supports political candidates
who reflect sensitivity to the REALTOR® position on real estate issues, and
advocates on behalf of homeownership and private property rights.
ORRA’s local advocacy efforts in 2018 focused on issues such as:
• Full funding for housing trust funds
• Assignment of insurance benefits
• Business rent tax
• Local sign ordinances
• Short-term vacation rentals

Tallahassee for Great American
REALTOR® Days, an annual statewide
initiative that reminds legislators of the
power of the REALTOR® voice.
Legislators were visited by ORRA
members to spread the REALTOR®
perspective on real estate related
issues.
ORRA supported maintaining a local
property tax increase for Orange
County Public Schools. This referendum
passed by more than 82 percent.

ORRA screened candidates for 26 local
elected offices in 2018; more than 70
percent of the association’s recommended
candidates won their races.
ORRA supported a “YES” vote on Florida’s
Amendment 2, which placed a permanent
cap on nonhomestead parcel assessment
increases and passed with 67 percent of
the vote.
