Local groups receive $8 million for housing assistance
HUD funding will be used to increase aff ordable housing, reduce homelessness, and revitalize communities
Nonprofit organizations and government
agencies that work to increase
aff ordable housing in Orange, Osceola, and
Seminole counties will receive nearly $8
million in funding from HUD in 2019. ORRA
supported candidates Rep. Stephanie
Murphy and Rep. Darren Soto announced
the funding.
“This federal investment will help
Central Florida, one of the fastest growing
regions in the nation, support the many
organizations that are working to improve
access to aff ordable housing for our rising
population,” said Murphy.
“While we continue to address affordable
housing solutions, the reality is
more and more constituents are at-risk of
becoming homeless,” added Soto. “Our
priority this Congress is to increase access
to aff ordable housing for Central Florida.”
Issues surrounding aff ordable housing
