Advocacy
The REALTORS® Political Action Committee
(RPAC) supports political candidates on
the national, state, and local levels who
reflect sensitivity to the REALTOR® position
on real estate issues. ORRA’s own RPAC
Committee screened candidates for 26
local elected off ices in 2018.

ORRA RPAC also worked to support
a successful “YES” vote on Florida
Amendment 2, which placed a permanent
cap on nonhomestead parcel assessment
increases, passed with 67 percent of the
vote.
Like its state and national counterparts,
ORRA RPAC advocates on behalf of local
REALTORS®, homeowners, and our real
estate industry. ORRA’s local advocacy
eff orts involve response to rising issues
such as:
• Full funding for housing trust funds
• Assignment of insurance benefits
• Business rent tax
• Local sign ordinances
• Short-term vacation rentals
of the association’s
recommended candidates won
their races.
When Orlando REALTORS® made their
annual trek to Tallahassee back in
March for Great American REALTOR®
Days, they were backed by one of the state’s
largest lobbies. Florida Realtors® Off ice of
Public Policy provides programs, services,
continuing education, research, and legislative
representation to our state’s 187,000 REALTORS
®. Its 2019 priorities and activities focus on
the following real estate related issues:
