The events are one of Anna’s favorite parts of her job. She
and the board try and include the rich history of Zephyrhills into
the events, turning them into lessons for the community. They
hold large Founder’s Day events with themes such as “Moonshine,
Turpentine and Timber” and elders from the community

of the town. “If you don’t know your past, you don’t know why
you’re here.” She loosely quoted Colonel Jeffries, who founded
the town she calls home. When she said it, she looked at me and
said, “You know, Zephyrhills was actually founded by a ‘snowbird.’
Colonel Jeffries, who founded this town was a retired Civil

She has done an excellent job with her organization. I have
witnessed her repair relationships with merchants, and dive into
each and every event with all of her heart as she works to make
each one a happy and inclusive experience. Anna Stutzriem

be opening called Main Street Billiards. There is a micro-brewery
called Zephyrhills Brewing Company that brews in house, and
has a rotating offering of unique food trucks to feed guests as
they sample the beer and play their favorite board game. One
such food truck is called Wicked Chicken’s Deviled Eggs, which
