The
Bite! Review
THE GREAT CATCH
NNormally when I write a Bite
Review, I try to start with what the
establishment looks like and a little
about the owner then discuss the
food. I have a tried and true writing
formula, but the food at The Great
Catch, A Taste of Boston, has me
can tell you all about how the server
was friendly and attentive (and, she
was). I could tell you all about how
quaint and cozy the decor is (and
clean, by the way), but the most
notable part of our visit to the Lutz
restaurant was absolutely the food.
I ordered a Blackened Salmon
with Hollandaise and Sweet Potato
Fries. Every single bite of my
meal was incredible. The salmon
was cooked to perfection with just
the right amount of blackening seasoning.
The sear was perfect, and
stood alone, but the addition of the
homemade Hollandaise Sauce took
it to the next level. The fries were
perfect. I always give extra points
to restaurants that offer a good alternative to the traditional
French Fry and The Great Catch really hits the mark with their
crisp and although they come with maple syrup for dipping,
I ate them with just a sprinkle of salt. No dip required. If everything

else at this restaurant didn’t live up to my standards,
I would go for the food alone. The good news is, the whole
experience was wonderful.
I have had the pleasure of dining at both locations. The
Great Catch of Zephyrhills is quickly getting a reputation for
being the ‘Go To’ place to dine al fresco. There is a large deck
that is the setting for a huge outdoor bar with live music and
karaoke. It is always a lively scene, which is a perfect Florida
seafood experience. The Lutz location also has a beautiful
deck, but is a more serene experience, backed up to a green
preserve, you forget you’re in a bustling little city. Both locations
have the same menu, which boasts Boston Style seafood
mixed with some local favorites.

those to move to Florida and bring
The Taste of Boston to the area. His
restaurant ventures have all been
very successful, and he decided
to grow his business by rebranding
The Taste of Boston in Wesley
Chapel to The Great Catch in 2013
and relocating to it Zephyrhills.
With the rebranding being a success
he purchased the Lutz location
in 2015. But George is all about the
food. When he talks about his menu
items it is clear that it is his love of
Boston Style Seafood that really
drives the quality. He sources all of
the seafood straight from his long
time connections in Boston, as well
as locally.
We chatted casually with
George while we waited for our
food and it was obvious that he has
a lot of integrity when it comes to
his menu items. Each item is paired
beautifully with your choice from a
wide selection of sides. I mentioned
that I didn’t think there were many
restaurants that offered that caliber of seafood for the price,
he countered by saying, “my only competition is myself. I
have no idea what my competitors are offering because I
don’t care. I only care about the quality of the product that
I am offering.” That is exactly the right attitude and it trickles
down from the top. Each employee we encountered was
friendly and attentive. Our server was on top of our every
need and the booths were comfortable and clean.
Both locations have live entertainment and happy hour
specials throughout the week. For more info and to check
