Outside of the downtown area
within Zephyrhills are many businesses
run by the locals. Some have been
here for many years, others are new.
Let’s start with restaurants. You can

sandwiches. There’s even Dice’s Dog
‘N Dairy, the town’s oldest ice cream
shop. Looking for farm fresh vegetables?
JR Farms, a local farmer, carries
just about anything in season.
We have a variety of salons and
spas, as well as medical and wellness
centers. New pharmacies have opened
as well as many service businesses in
just about every industry from computers
to bicycles. Krafty Owl is a unique
store that offers craft classes. Plenty of
thrift stores, discount stores, a movie
theatre, a bowling alley, and even a
metaphysical store called Enchanted
Triple Moon. There are schools like the
Broach School, Slyvan Learning Center,
an active home-school community, as well
as traditional brick and mortar schools are
available to meet the demands of our growing
community. And, we are growing!
I also sat with Rod Corriveau, Assistant
Planner for the City of Zephyrhills to
discuss the “big picture” plans for the city.
Rod explained why people love it. “Zephyrhills
is a hub of small business. There is
no urban plight.” He says that this is one
of the things that makes Zephyrhills such a
desirable place to live. In his position with
the city, he works with the City Planner,
Main Street Organization and the CRA to
put together the comp plan, or overriding
document that guides economic growth in
the city. As with the Main Street Organization,
the planning department believes in
constantly continuing the education so that
they can stay abreast of cutting edge developments.
