to improve safety and deliver accurate traffic information.
With V2I, people do not run down their smartphone
batteries or exhaust their data usage from traffic
routing apps, because their vehicles are securely
communicating with the latest traffic data. The data
transport and supporting data centers must be designed,
and BICSI RCDDs have the unique skills to fulfill
these tasks.
CONCLUSION AND A LOOK AHEAD:
In the past six years, the ICT and security industries have
witnessed the impressive growth of innovative security
solutions. The momentum for more advanced solutions,
driven in part by smart city development and profitable
product introductions, continues at an exciting pace.
Smart devices running AI processes appear to have long
term capital financing; approximately 128 companies are
currently funded to deliver AI video analytic solutions,
such as facial recognition. In 2020, there will be additional
introductions of AI chipsets supporting IoT sensors.
The BICSI professional will continue to discover business
opportunities fueled by growing industries within and
outside of security, making the case for professional
development in managing the ICT project. Furthermore,
BICSI and the Security Industry Association continue
18 I ICT TODAY
to collaborate in the quest for new and better tech-
nologies that elevate both ICT and the future of security.
