CHARLOTTE HARBOR ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER
(CHEC) is a free nature center, located on 30,000 acres of public land,
are invite hike on four miles of maintained trails, tour the Caniff
Education Center, picnic in the screened pavilion or experience the
newly planted butterfly gardens. A host of educational programs are
offered and range from naturalist led kayak excursions and nature
walks to seagrass wading adventures. The main office is located at

THE CULTURAL CENTER OF CHARLOTTE COUNTY has
over 12,000 different happenings each year. Over 2,000 classes are
offered, including fitness, language and arts classes, as well as an
array of computer classes. Our 7,200 square foot conference center is
available for events and meetings for up to 500 people. Our 500 seat
theater holds over 300 events each year, and offers a wide variety of
concerts and shows by various production companies. The Cultural
Center is open six days a week. Beaches Café serves Breakfast and
lunch Monday thru Friday, and is open just for lunch on Saturday.

for you. Dances, classes, theater, fitness and shopping in our thrift
shops. The most important aspect of The Cultural Center is our
corps of volunteers who come to the Cultural Center to give back
