PICKLEPLEX OF PUNTA GORDA are outdoor pickleball
courts on the campus of Florida South Western State College. The
mission of the PicklePlex is to provide a positive environment for
the residents of Charlotte County and surrounding communities
for the health and wellbeing of the public. The complex will provide
outdoor facilities focusing on exercise and competitive. Emphasis
will be placed on educating youth and the underprivileged on the
merits of sports activities and fitness. The state-of-the-art facility
will attract participants from out of state and all over the world.

PUNTA GORDA HISTORICAL SOCIETY works to preserve
the history of Punta Gorda with a diverse group of local volunteers
who save historic buildings for more than a quarter century. Their
efforts include the preservation of the Punta Gorda Railroad
Depot, the only Atlantic Coast Line depot of its style still
remaining. Built in 1928, also houses a museum and an antique
mall (1009 Taylor Road, Punta Gorda). The Woman’s Club, built
in 1927, is located at 118 Sullivan Street in downtown Punta
Gorda. Gardens and historical buildings meld at the History Park,
501 Shreve Street, with historic buildings housed in a garden
