can feel closer to God and to one another. We want to honor
the peaceful place that we are while inviting people onto the
property through day passes, season memberships, and
programs. We’ve worked to create partnerships in the
community, welcoming groups such as students from HCC
doing research projects and local public schools doing field
trips. We recently invited local merchants from Canton to
a reception and tour of the property so that we can learn
more about each other and share that information with
guests to the county. We’ve worked with organizations like
Curtis Wright Outfitters, Leapfrog Tours, and Cullowhee Arts
to develop new opportunities. Camp Henry just completed
its 60th summer (17th at Lake Logan) of summer camp programs
for children, youth, and families. And of course, the
tradition of the Lake Logan Multisport Festival, which takes
place every August, has been going strong for thirteen years.
It’s an exciting time to be at Lake Logan. Visitors to the property
have increased significantly over the past two years, and
we look forward to continued growth. We have a busy program
calendar over the next year, and programs are open to
anyone who is interested. The Cold Mountain Music Festival
and Music Series have brought together great music, food
trucks, local breweries, and fun family activities. We’ve also
started a monthly volunteer day for folks who want to come
out and help us care for the historic property, and we have
a thriving group of regular donors we call Trailblazers who
gather regularly for fellowship and service.

When the church purchased the property from Champion
almost 20 years ago, significant investment was made in
order to ready the property for summer camp and retreats.
The Diocese raised and borrowed funds to make the purchase
happen and went into capital and operating debt as a
result. The mortgage debt was paid off in 2016, and we have
worked steadily to decrease the operating debt and finished
2018 in the black. A group of dedicated Lake Logan friends
has offered $76,155 as a match challenge to pay off debt, we
have met 40%, and continue raising funds to meet that
challenge. 20 minutes and a world away. We invite you
to be part of the world of Lake Logan. Attend one of our
programs. Bring a group out. Become a member. Volunteer.
Donate. Enjoy this beautiful resource in Haywood County.
