ZOA also proudly co-sponsored the Immigration
Nation series, focused on the importance
of Israel’s Law of Return, at a number of
campuses on the West Coast. Celebrations for
Yom Haatzmaut closed off the spring semester
in style, where ZOA worked with other organizations
and groups to co-host festivities and
SodaStream tabling programs at schools such
as UC Davis, Cal State Northridge, UCLA,
and UC San Diego.
ZOA Campus
Fellowship
The ZOA Campus Fellowship continued to
grow its annual class and expand nationally to
more colleges and universities than ever. ZOA
Campus is extremely proud to mark the milestone
of achieving a class of over 50 fellows for
the 2018-2019 academic year. These students
proudly served, often in the most difficult
environments, as ZOA’s official student representatives
on campus. ZOA fellows worked in
close partnership with regional ZOA Campus
staff and with central organizations at their
respective college campuses to host impactful
programming instilled with proud Zionist
values.
ZOA Student
Leadership Mission to
Israel - Summer 2019
The ZOA Campus Student Leadership
Mission to Israel in the summer of 2019
once again proved to be a major success. As a
flagship program of the Campus department,
this year’s Israel trip took place from June
18 to July 2, and provided a dynamic and
invaluable educational experience for nearly
40 student leaders from various college and
university campuses across America. Participants
hailed from schools such as Brandeis
University, Northeastern University, Penn
State, Baruch College, UCLA, USC, Ohio
State University, University of Texas at Austin,
among others.
The intense two-week advocacy trip was
powerful and unique in many ways. Students
received a firsthand look at the geostrategic
complexities facing the State of Israel through
briefings with numerous high-level expert
speakers. In addition, students participated
in eye-opening visits to the Golan Heights,
the Jordan Valley, and the southern border
with Gaza, while also getting the chance to
interact with Israeli peers and learn about
the history and origins of the IDF. By traveling
throughout the country and specifically
spending a significant portion of the trip in
Jerusalem and in Judea and Samaria, students
also learned about the indelible Jewish roots
throughout the Land of Israel, and the moral
and strategic importance of maintaining
Israel’s permanent presence in these areas of
our homeland.
ZOA Campus is extremely grateful for
the generous support provided by the MZ
Foundation, which has allowed hundreds of
students to develop lifelong connections to
Zionism and the State of Israel through such
immersive travel experiences.
