LEADERSHIP
My goals as an ORRA leader
for 2020 are to support
President Reese Stewart
and the board of directors;
remain highly engaged in
the association’s eff orts to
promote professionalism
and its aff ordable housing
initiatives; and to represent
the ORRA membership as a
Florida Realtors® district vice
president.
The most valuable services
that ORRA off ers members
are education, leadership
development, professionalism
training, and advocacy.
In my year as president I
came to realize that advocacy
– on behalf of REALTORS®,
of the profession, of homeownership
- is the most
valuable things we do.
The best thing that has
happened since I started
volunteering with ORRA is
serving as president. It’s
been enormously gratifying,
and I’ve met hundreds if
not thousands of members.
There are so many REALTORS
® (and others) who are
truly vested in both encouraging
homeownership and
improving our way of life
here in Central Florida.
What I think will be diff erent
about ORRA in five years is
that technology will continue
to advance the member
experience. However, real
estate is and will be always
about interpersonal relationships.
It’s crucial that
ORRA expands interaction
with members and consumers
on a personal level, not
just through technology.
What I wish others knew
about ORRA is that just
one person or just one idea
can make a diff erence, and
that and we have so many
opportunities for members
to get involved. It is your
association; you can make it
what you want it to be.

My goals as an ORRA leader
for 2020 are to be a good
steward of our members’
best interests as we begin
the redevelopment process
on our new headquarters location;
to secure innovative,
state-of-the-art technology
in service to members; and
to continue to promote professionalism
in the industry.
The most valuable service
that ORRA off ers members
is our fabulous education
department, which provides
top notch professional
development opportunities.
In addition, ORRA’s position
as a shareholder in one of
the best multiple listing
services in the country is
of enormous benefit to the
members.
The best thing that has
happened since I started volunteering
with ORRA is that
I’ve developed an amazing
network of people I’ve been
fortunate to meet. It always
makes the transaction
easier if you know the other
REALTOR®.
What I think will be diff erent
about ORRA in five years is
the technology that we use
to educate and communicate
with our members.
The factors most aff ecting
the future of Orlando’s housing
market are aff ordable
housing and transportation.
The most pressing national
REALTOR® issue is lack of
professionalism and the
public’s perception of
REALTORS®.
The most important real
estate lesson I’ve learned is
to always speak the truth.
The most rewarding part of
real estate is having grateful
previous customers who
aft er many years still send
me referrals.
The most challenging part
of real estate is dealing with
the many personalities of
real estate and being able to
adjust your own approach
accordingly.
