2021 Committee Structure
The following is a general overview of the chamber’s committees, including meeting days and times. You are
invited and encouraged to participate in one or more committees that spark your interest or serve your business/
organization. For more information call (941) 564-3040.
Business & Economic Development Committee
This committee is designed to improve the local
economy and create better conditions for economic
growth. It works to create a business-friendly community
and promote North Port as a place to locate and grow
your business. It works to improve prospects for job
creation and retention and development of the human
capital. It will monitor the agendas and actions of other
public and private economic development organizations
in the region and will advise the Chamber about issues
critical to the community’s economic growth and business
development. Meetings are currently held virtually at
8:30 am on the 1st Tuesday monthly.
President’s Council
Meeting: To Be Determined, Quarterly
This committee consists of current and past presidents
and is chaired by the Immediate Past President of the
Board of Directors each year.
Government Relations Committee
This committee acts as the liaison between Chamber
Members and various local, regional, and state governing
bodies. Committee members also closely monitor any
public policy or legislation that may impact the business
community. During election years, they also host the
Community Candidate Forum and Hob Nob event.
Meetings are currently held virtually at 8:30 am on the
4th Tuesday monthly.
Marketing & Communications Committee
This committee identifies and implements ways to
promote and enhance the Chamber’s image and place in
the community. This committee is responsible for telling
the Chamber’s story through promotional and marketing
activities. Meetings are currently held virtually at 9:30
am on the 1st Friday monthly.
Member Services Committee
This committee identifies and implements ways to
recruit and support new members, as well as identify
and implement ways to maintain existing membership.
Their efforts include outreach, welcome visits to new
businesses, Chamber orientations, membership drives,
retention surveys, member events, and networking events.
Meetings are currently held virtually and at Olde World
Restaurant at 8:30 am on the 2nd Tuesday monthly.
Professional Development/Education
Committee
This committee provides opportunities to Chamber
members and the community to foster business and
personal success. They oversee the Lunch & Learn
Workshops, Leadership North Port and the North Port
Young Professionals programs. Meetings are currently
held virtually at 4:00 pm on the 1st Tuesday monthly.
Resource Development Committee
This committee designs and implements diverse
funding for working capital in support of the Chamber’s
mission. This could include enhanced exposure
opportunities for members, sponsorships, Chamber fees,
public-private funding and grant writing. This committee
also oversees special events sub-committees including
the Golf Tournament, Business and Community Expo,
A Night at the Races, and Business to Business Expo.
Meetings are currently held virtually at 8:30 am on the
2nd Wednesday monthly.
North Port Young Professionals
This networking group is intended to connect
chamber members and their employees between the ages
21-40 via unique networking, marketing, and service
opportunities.
