Senior Services Senior Services Department, a NC Senior Center of Excellence for the 13th
consecutive year, provides quality services, programs, activities and opportunities
to promote and enhance the well-being of seniors. A satellite Senior Center in the
Locust Town Center is operated in partnership with the Stanly County YMCA.

of $1.2 million for participating citizens.

Volunteers prepared approximately 425 income tax
returns, saving approximately $62,000 in tax preparation
costs

Soil and Water Conservation Service
The mission of the Stanly Soil and
Water Conservation District is to
provide education, information and
technical assistance to citizens of
Stanly County for the conservation
of our soil and water resources.
Stanly Soil & Water has a notill
seed drill available to rent for
improving soil health and decreasing erosion. It was used sixteen (16) times
on 87 acres; the drill generated $1,381 in rental revenue.
Received $70,685 to assist with agricultural Best Management Practices and
$7,500 to assist with water needs on agricultural properties.
