This oak tree that sits in a
corner of the front lawn of the
Woodham home is, according
to many who have visited
Bunker HIll Winery, the home of
a First Nations woman. She has
often been seen sitting under
the tree, and Lenore has made
her own little place with a table
and chairs under the tree, to
commune with the peaceful
spirit.
Larry said they have one woman who
comes out who is a spirit magnet, and she can
attest to the fact that there are more unearthly
presences at Bunker Hill than most places
have.
“The spirits come to her and ask her
for help,” Larry said. “She is for real; she
has a good job and is well-known in the
community. They speak to her, and have since
she was a small child. She knows how special
this place is. It is truly a safe haven for spirits.
Some spirits just stop by, on their journey.
Others stay. We don’t provoke them … it’s all
good.”
Lenore said that several people have talked
about an older woman, a Native American,
who lives under a tree in the front yard and
has for quite some time.
“She doesn’t want to leave,” Lenore said.
“She likes it here.”
In fact, a small concrete table and stools are
placed close to the tree, and Lenore said it is
one of her favorite places to sit and relax.
“We’ve learned an awful lot about this
since we opened it up to the public,” Larry
said. “People come through and we get little
bits and pieces of information. I liken it to a
1,000-piece puzzle. The pieces are dumped
on a table, then the box top with the picture is
taken away. You don’t know what the pieces
are, what the picture is supposed to be, we’re
just slowly trying to put the pieces together
and see how they fi t.”
Look for upcoming orb walks and wine
tastings at Bunker Hill Vineyard in the future;
they will be listed on the website. Be sure to
check out Larry’s blog on the winery’s website,
bunkerhillvineyard.com. He frequently
updates the information there, and it is
defi nitely worth the read. The Woodham’s
products and prices are on the website as
well, instructions on how to set up a wine
tasting and their history are there as well.
