RCS Grande Gala
RCS President and CEO Caitlin Higgins Joy, event chair Devin Pappas, and founding sponsor Alexis Sharoky welcomed
“flappers and fellas” to the twenties-themed RCS Grande Gala. The benefit for RCS included a buffet dinner, dance demonstrations,
a live auction, with guest auctioneer Gary Connors, and dancing. Since 1967, RCS has been providing help and hope to Pinellas
County people who are facing hunger, homelessness and domestic violence. Today, their needs are met through the RCS Food
Bank, the RCS Grace House, The Haven of RCS and the RCS Thrift Store.
Jim and Sandee Pfister, who enjoyed
getting into the costumes-optional
Great Gatsby theme, thought the RCS
benefit was the “bee’s knees.”
WTSP 10 News Meteorologist Ashley Batey
and Tampa Bay Times Columnist Ernest
Hooper, who served as the benefit’s celebrity
hosts, kept the party moving.
The Honorable George Cretekos,
Clearwater’s Mayor, and his First Lady
Carolyn enjoyed the desserts that were
provided by Clearwater Beach’s
Clear Sky Beachside Cafe
Margie McDaniel and Gala donor Betsy
Schweitzer were impressed by the many
intriguing auction and raffle items that were
available to help fund RCS’ endeavors.
Mike and Sue Levich, who support RCS
through their Patchington stores, enjoyed
the music of Dick Rumore and Jazz Cellar
Underground with special guest
Fred Johnson.
Elliot and Barbara Wiser, were proud that
10 News, where he is the president and
general manager, helped sponsor the Gala
to raise awareness and money for RCS.
