Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars
“Fire and Ice,” this year’s formal evening in Tampa of cocktails, a silent auction and a seated dinner, featured 13 community
leaders with their professional Fred Astaire dance instructors in an on-stage dance competition. Contestants were judged
by the amount of monetary donations made in their names. This sixth annual event was produced by Julie Weintraub’s
Hands Across the Bay, a charity that advocates for change and provides acts of kindness and “a helping hand for a better
tomorrow” for families in need. This year’s beneficiaries were Clothes to Kids, which provides low income school children
with new and quality used wearables, and My Hope Chest, which funds reconstruction for breast cancer survivors.
Gold and Diamond Source’s Steve and Julie
Weintraub were glad that the benefit she chaired
for her Hands Across the Bay was so successful.
Yve and her husband attorney Rick Feinberg
were excited because she was one the
evening’s guest dance competitors.
Sherry and Ron Sacino returned from a
sojourn to their Italian getaway to attend
Hands Across the Bay’s fundraiser.
Designer Maria McGill, a TV’s Dancing with
the Stars founder, dressed many of the night’s
dancers and guests, including Summer Gray
and Kerie Sadok behind her.
ABC Action News Anchor Wendy Ryan
and her husband, television and video
personality Jerome Ritchey, bid on the
silent auction offerings.
Mike and Elena Azzarelli have continually
helped Tampa fundraisers by chairing, serving
on committees and generously donating.
