Roslyn Franken did what many teachers tell their students
to do, “Write what you know about.” With those words
in mind, she has retold the stories of her mother’s World
War II survival from a gas chamber; of her father’s experience as
a Prisoner of War in Japan, when the atomic bomb was dropped
on Nagasaki; and of their eventual meeting and marriage. Added
to this is her personal survival of breast cancer at the age of 29
and the lessons she has learned from these real life experiences.
The book is available at www.meanttobe.today. Roslyn can be
contacted at (813) 803-0155 and is available as a speaker and for
book signings.
Some Secrets for Success
Remembering
Maas Brothers
Joshua Seth is a world-renowned
psychological illusionist, who has
written a book to help us rewire our
brains to be calm, focused and productive.
He makes it easy, as he guides the reader
through the process, step by step. He
begins with how to develop your thought
process, then moves on to applying that
to your health, before sharing tips to help
increase your productivity. The final
portion of his book deals with the concept
of success and the best methods of selfactualization
through the de-cluttering of
your life. He teaches how to make your
own luck, following easy-to-understand
principles to bring you the life that you
have sought.
Seth’s systems are straight forward and
easy to follow, as they are based upon
common sense and, therefore, resonate
with your inner being. He explains the
pitfalls to which we are subject, inspiring
us to trust his advice.
This is Seth’s fourth book in his varied
career as a speaker and voice-over artist.
He can be contacted at www.joshuaseth.

This book, which is part of the “Images of America” series by
Arcadia Publishing, follows Maas Brothers department stores
from their opening in 1886 until they were combined with Miami’s
Jordan Marsh in 1987, which led to their disappearance in 1991, when
they became Burdines. This Florida Suncoast institution is brought to
life again by its author Michael Lisicky through a collection of vintage
photographs and memorabilia. Maas Brothers stores, which helped
shape the character of the Tampa Bay area, are an integral part of our
local heritage. The book’s forward was written by former Tampa Mayor
Sandy Freedman.
