Romero, Robert Bard and Gloria
Romano-Barrera
Recognizing the top 50 best companies for
Latinas to work for in the United States
gets harder by the minute.
In celebrating the 22nd Anniversary of our Report,
we are proud of the hard work it takes to evaluate
what is important for Latinas in the workplace
and who are the companies that provide the best
opportunities for personal and professional growth.
We evaluate as many variables as possible to make
sure that we touch on all the topics that may be
important to you.
1. New York Life
Jomil Guerrero
Managing Director, Global Marketing Operations
New York Life Investments
Jomil Guerrero is Managing Director, Global
Marketing Operations, for New York Life
Investments. In her current role, she has
contributed to the modernization of Investments
Marketing by improving the effectiveness of
marketing technology platforms, developing new
value-add programs for clients, and building a
best-in-class RFP practice.
Prior to her role in Investments Marketing,
she served as Director of Project Management &
Communications for New York Life Investments
Through the years some of the companies have
changed, some have merged, some have been
acquired, others have actually lost their drive for
diversity and inclusion. The selection of the Company
of the Year is a complicated task that requires a
number of evaluation processes to finally produce a
winner.
This year we received a great number of
nominations initiated by Employee Resource Groups,
Board of Directors and company employees at large.
Vetting the companies is a challenge, but there is
so much information available through the legal
reporting that companies have to report to investors,
the government and regulators that the hardest issue
is to sift through all the information available.
where she managed a variety of projects including
change management initiatives, execution of new
business strategies, and merger and acquisition
integrations. She was also responsible for both the
internal and external communication strategy
across the business.
She also served as Chief of Staff to the CFO of
the Insurance and Agency division where she
was instrumental in helping the finance senior
leadership team set strategic direction as the
organization evolved to become a more dynamic
For our Company of the Year, diversity and
inclusion has made a great impact on the business
and some of their top producers are Latinas. This is
a clear message that diversity is not a cosmetic
imperative but a business imperative.
Finally, every time we have measured the LATINA
Style 50 against the stock market we have found
that the 50 beat the market by a considerable
margin. Coincidence? Maybe, but most likely not.
This year we congratulate New York Life for
topping the chart. Congratulations New York Life on
your very well deserved recognition as Company of
the Year by LATINA Style, Inc.
