The Toronto Blue Jays, the only Major League Baseball team to have never changed their
spring training home, which is Dunedin, will spend at least the first two months of this
year’s season playing their home games at TD Ballpark in Dunedin. The Blue Jays have
been part of this charming city for more than 40 years, but never before to this degree.
The home game move from Toronto to Dunedin was caused by Canada’s COVID-19 quarantine
restrictions. Dunedin’s newly refurbished stadium on Douglas Avenue is the perfect place to enjoy
big league ball in an old-time, small and intimate setting that is as laid back as Dunedin itself.
