On June 10th, LATINA Style, Inc., the premier
company addressing the needs of professional
Latinas in the United States, held its virtual
Northeast region LATINA Style Business Series themed
Latinas Pivot and Adapt: Conquering New Opportunities
in 2021 & Beyond! The award-winning conference for
Latina entrepreneurs allowed participants to learn about
business ownership and partake in career development
seminars.
Moderated by Robert E. Bard, President & CEO,
LATINA Style, Inc., National Co-Chairs Ramiro Cavazos,
President & CEO, USHCC, and Alice Rodriguez, Head of
Community Impact, Managing Director, JPMorgan Chase
& Co. provided remarks on the status of Latina business
owners in the country.
Keynote speaker Isabella Casillas Guzman, 27th
Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration
(SBA), continued the conversation and provided
information pertinent to small business owners and her
undertakings as the current administrator.
Lupita Colmenero, COO, LATINA Style, Inc.,
introduced the regional co-chairs roundtable. Co-Chair
remarks were provided by Susana Marino, M.S. Ed,
President & Founder, Northern Virginia Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce; Angela Franco, President &
CEO, DC Chamber of Commerce; Corina Morga,
Vice-Chair of the Board, President of C&R Services,
Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Nicole
Quiroga, President & CEO, Greater Washington Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce.

Addressing the incredible strain placed on
businesses by the COVID-19 pandemic, the LSBS
program also provides recovery resources to Latina small
business owners and entrepreneurs.
The first panel titled “Restructuring Your Business-
Succeeding in the New Environment,” included

The “How Mental Health Affects You, Your Work, &
Your Business,” panel focused on mental health. Experts
provided information on the signals of stress, tools, and
a plan of action to tackle the pressing issues faced due
to stress. Speakers included Gabriela Romo, Radio
show host, producer, owner, Licensed Clinical Counselor,
Columnist; Gloria Saez, LICSW, LCSW, Bilingual
Senior Therapist and Jennifer Peña, MD, FACP, Chief
Medical Officer, Nurx.
