Right down the road in Point Pleasant Beach is the iconic
Spike’s Fish Market and Restaurant—in business for over
90 years and still going strong. During the height of the
season, you will usually have a wait, but they are open
year-round, so plan a visit in the off-season and enjoy the
same fresh, delicious food sans the crowds. If it’s lobster
you’re craving, head over to Red’s Lobster Pot, also in
Point Pleasant Beach. Outside dining right on the water is
available. Enjoy your meal as you watch the boats come in.
For upscale and inventive seafood dishes, Chef Mike’s
ABG, in Seaside Park, is the place to try. Ocean views,
creative cocktails, and exciting specials are always a part
of the experience.
If it’s chowder you’re craving, get yourself to the Shrimp
Box in Point Pleasant Beach, across the channel from the
Fisherman’s Coop. You can watch the fishing boats bring in
what will soon end up on the menu.
