In 2015, Tuckerton Seaport celebrated the 100th
anniversary of the modern-day Coast Guard Service. In
1915, the U.S. Life-Saving Service merged with the Revenue
Cutter Service, originally commissioned by George
Washington on August 4, 1790, and was officially renamed
the Coast Guard, the only service dedicated to saving life at
sea and enforcing the nation’s maritime laws.
Tuckerton Seaport hosts several programs and special
events during the year. In May, thrill to the unique artistry
of Carve Wars Chainsaw Carving Competition and explore
the Arts and Craft Beer Festival. Find fun for all ages at
the Baymen’s Seafood & Music Festival in June and the
Privateers & Pirates Family Fun Day in July. Fall brings the
37th annual Ocean County Decoy & Gunning Show, four
frightful nights of the Haunted Seaport, and the Lighthouse
Challenge on October 19 and 20. Celebrate the traditions
of the season and jump-start your holiday shopping at
Tuckerton Seaport’s Annual Christkindlmarkt during the
first weekend of December. This three-day family-fun event
features horse-drawn carriage rides, live entertainment,
ornament-making classes and a Holiday Market and Craft
Fair, all under a huge heated tent and throughout the
Seaport buildings. For an up-to-date list of events, visit

Tuckerton borders the New Jersey Pine Barrens, noted
for hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, bird watching and
ecotour adventures. The tiny pristine town of Tuckerton, off
of Exit 58 of the Garden State Parkway, nestled on Little Egg
Harbor, Little Egg Harbor Inlet and the Great Bay, offers you
a Jersey Shore oasis that you’ll treasure.
