No matter where we are in life,
we all strive to be better. We
all have fitness goals. Some
of us are on the path, some of us have
trouble staying on the path, and some
of us have gone beyond our wildest
expectations. The key to all things
great…. is motivation. And motivation
at times can often be the most elusive
trait we all covet.
Different forms and fads of physical
fitness have come and gone over
the years and in most recent years
it has been the creative energy used
in the design of physical fitness that
has made new things possible. And
it’s not the latest nautilus machine
that’s making the difference. It’s a
whole lot more simple…..It’s the Boot
Camp. They aren’t filled with the
latest greatest pieces of equipment
with 15 different settings. They
don’t have someone standing next
to you counting 1 to 10 as you lazily
do reps on the bench press. They
aren’t filled with the fashion forward,
wearing revealing outfits showing
off their great genetics. They are
raw, hard hitting, serious, creative,
compassionate and real.
We had an amazing opportunity to
spend time with Misty Rollins who is
a part of “About Face Boot Camp” in
Cramerton NC, on 117 Carter St., just
west of Charlotte and can be reached
at 704-879-4105. Misty was like many
women that struggled with weight
gain after pregnancy looked for quick
fixes and made many failed “New
Year’s Resolutions.” At 5’ 3” she was
up to 195lbs, was spending too much
time on the $1.00 menu at McDonald’s,
and did not have a positive selfimage.
And then Misty got involved
in basic boot camp exercises at home.
She became driven to change and
states that “motivation, is when you
find what drives you, reaches your
inner core and just downright gets
