Mani Mukhija is the founder and
editor-in-chief of Ginger-it-Up
food blog. Ginger-it-Up food blog
shares healthy, easy and low-calorie
recipes for everybody straight from
Mani’s kitchen where a variety of
spices rooted in family culture fill
her pantry. As a lover of good food
and conversation, I was very eager to
sit down to talk with her about her
journey to the world of food blogging.
As the cameras are set in position
and the mics are checked, 1, 2, 1, 2,
I begin to think about how great it
would be to mix it up in the kitchen
with Mani and create a savory dish
filled with Indian spices. As my eyes
gaze around the room, I see a kitchen
that represents the family’s health,

connection and Love.
Our minds were somehow connected
on a particular wavelength that day.
We had never met, but somehow both
presented in a blue dress…. a color
that It is often associated with depth
and stability. Blue symbolizes trust,
loyalty, intelligence, truth, wisdom and
confidence. This meeting was not by
chance, it was heaven sent. Her long
black hair, with every strand in place
and her great posture was an image
that can’t easily be erased. We began
to settle in with smiles on our faces
as she began to weave the tale of her
journey.
Mani Mukhija grew up in India where
culture and tradition are known across
the world. Her memories revolve
around family, conversations and
eating. She would tell you that her
mom is her cooking inspiration. Mani’s
go to spices are herbs, fresh mint,
fresh coriander, rosemary and dried
fenugreek. Her essential oils are olive
oil and coconut oil. Sea salt and spices.
