Emotional Healthy
Living in a Chaotic World

psychological effects that could be even longer
lasting. Remember that you have control of your
thoughts and keeping your mind healthy will require
you to often access those controls and steer yourself
towards the positive.
Of course, we all desire to live longer and live
well. The hard part is “getting your mind right” and
blocking out the negative energy that seems to lurk
around every corner. Sometimes that energy appears
in the form of an emotionally distant companion or
the negative influence of a friend that seems to bring
you down or interrupt your peace. It may be political
divisions and an unwillingness to see the perspective
of others. Often it’s your own voice or thoughts
dwelling on past choices, regret and hurt. Whatever
the form, negative energy is the enemy to an
emotionally healthy mind. The good news is a strong
healthy sense of self and emotional wellness always
defeats negative energy. Always. This doesn’t mean
life challenges and tragedies will escape us. It does
mean we can actively choose to protect ourselves
in spite of what we are sure to encounter. That
protection looks like meditating in the morning and
visualizing positive outcomes. It looks like reading
for self-growth instead of interacting as much
with that friend who behaves negatively. Creating
boundaries and putting you first. You put you first…
period. Today, choose to show yourself more love and
protect your emotional healthy mind. As always Selflove
is Magical! Sprinkle it on yourself today.

Counting Calories! Counting Steps! More of
this…. Less of that! In a culture seemingly
obsessed with health and fitness, it is
estimated the average American will spend about
$100,000 or more in a lifetime to reach their
fitness goals. Wow! That’s truly an investment. A
great indicator of the overall health of people in
a specific country is life expectancy. Fortunately,
life expectancy in the United States has steadily
increased over the years and is projected to reach
81 years by 2025. Medical technology breakthroughs
and efforts to maintain optimal physical health
amongst other variables contribute to living a
longer life.
So…. does a healthy body automatically translate
into an emotionally healthy mind? Unfortunately,
no. Emotional health is a critical part of our overall
health. It has to do with being in control of thoughts,
feelings, and how we behave. Demonstrating
resilience by bouncing back from adversity, feeling
good about who we are and being selective about who
we allow in our emotional space matters.
We make many conscious choices about our
behaviors…what time we wake up or go to sleep, our
food choices, activities we engage in, often with the
expectation of a certain outcome. What we so often
forget is how to manage the distribution of energy
in our mind. A good run for 30 minutes uses a lot of
energy, it will exhaust you and you will feel better
for it. That same 30 minutes used in a negative
space poring over a hurtful experience may be even
more exhausting, can have deleterious physical and
