The standard of living is so
completely different, yet everyone
was so gracious and kind
and welcoming. Attitudes of
kindness, thankfulness, and
gratitude. I watched women
carrying up to 4 children barefoot
in this flood so that they
could get their children polio
vaccinations. Several saying
they traveled miles.
While so many Americans
don't even realize polio still exists
or what it even is. This trip
humbled me, and reminded me
to be thankful every single day
for the life that I live, and inspired
me to keep working for
the betterment of humanity
near and far.
