Introducing PATHWAYS, Compelling
Connections for the Chronically Curious.
It’s an app in the Apple App Store and on
Google Play that visitors can access on
their smart phone or tablet. The Pathways
SFM app currently offers three unique
approximately 20-minute self-guided
museum experiences, with more in
the works.
The rst is an introduction to the museum,
which is perfect for first-time visitors.
This Pathway introduces visitors to the
museum’s “celebrities” and helps users
get accustomed to the app layout. There
are maps and turn-by-turn directions to
help guide users through the museum.
The welcome page says: “This Pathway
could also be called the “M” tour as we
will be seeing: Meteorite, Mastodon,
Megalodon, Man, & Manatee”.
Doesn’t that sound like fun?
The second Pathway is called ‘Cousins or
Coincidence?’ Through this experience,
we can learn what mastodons and
manatees have in common (other than
sharing the “M” in their names)
Speaking of manatees, The Parker
Manatee Rehabilitation Aquarium, once
the permanent home of Snooty - the
World’s Oldest Living Manatee when he
died at the age of 69, remains dedicated to
the study and rehabilitation of manatees.
Up to four manatees can live in the
beautiful aquarium while volunteers and
trained specialists attend to their needs
and help them get back to their natural
habitat. Museum-goers can see these
majestic creatures up close at the daily
live presentations.

for families to do together. It’s called
