Founded in 2004, The Mosaic Company
is a global leader in phosphates and
potash crop nutrition. The company
is a single-source provider of phosphate
and potash fertilizers and feed ingredients
for approximately 65 percent of American
farmers. “Odds are if you’re picking
up something grown by an American
farmer, it started with phosphate from
Florida,” says Jackie Barron, Public Affairs
Manager with Mosaic.
Mosaic employs more than 15,000 people
in six countries, and roughly 3,000 of
those employees live in Central and
Southwest Florida.
Driven by a mission to help the world grow
the food it needs, Mosaic is committed
to sustainably strengthening global food
security and protecting critical water
resources, Barron says. “Our Nutrient
Stewardship program works with growers
across the country and here in Florida,
where we support the “This Farm Cares”
program - spreading the word about the
right rate, at the right time, at the right
place with the right source,” she explains.
Think Globally, Act Locally
While Mosaic is a global company, the
organization is committed to giving back

says Barron. “We encourage employees
to give back and celebrate the good
work our folks do in their hometowns -
from coaching little league to feeding the
homeless to reading to children.”
In fact, Barron says Mosaic routinely
adjusts work schedules to free up teams of
employees for local volunteer projects. “Our
folks are proud to call Mosaic home and
equally proud of the impact their company
has on their hometowns,” she adds.
However, the generosity doesn’t end
there. In 2017, Mosaic as a company gave
back ve percent of its earnings before
taxes. “In Manatee, our grants range from
a few hundred dollars to much more,”
remarks Barron.
For instance, Mosaic has formed
partnerships to help with the expansion
of the Robinson Preserve as well as the
