Did You Know?
What’s the difference between a
spineboard and a stretcher?
A stretcher is usually made of cloth or nylon
and is used for general transporting of a
patient who cannot or should not walk on
their own. Many stretchers are foldable or
collapsible, making them easier to get into
tight spaces. A spineboard is rigid, for the
transportation of patients who need to be
immobilized or may have a head, neck or
spine injury.
