This mission trip Steve and I went on was with 18 people we didn’t know. The group consisted of ten Medical (plus four amazing Kenyan helpers), three
Administration, one Photographer, and four Construction. My job was to chart hundreds of Children’s height and weight as each one came in. The goal
was... in the course of 10 days, for 1,000 students, all the faculty, and some of the outside communities to get weighed, charted and seen by one of our
nurses or our nurse practitioner. If someone was sick or had something wrong with them (which a lot of them did), we had a pharmacy set up to administer
them medicine. It truly was a well-oiled machine.
Steve’s job was construction... he took the screen off of a huge porch area, replaced it, hung wire fencing on top of that, trimmed the whole thing, and
other small projects.
We all worked A LOT and it was well worth it.
Steve and I sponsor two of the children. The funds we pay to sponsor them pays for their school, uniforms, and meals.
So many children need sponsors... if you are interested, pm me!
Steve and I developed friendships with the group we went with that will last a lifetime. I’m thankful for being able to serve and live the life God gave me.
