Naming & Ancestry Fun Facts
Puppies
This La’al pup is as sharp
as a pin, but with her
Grand Dams and GG Dams
genes, we had to mix
Brenna and Glucose to
carry on the family name–
so Glenna it is.
Gloucester
Glencoyne
Gleeman
Glencoe
Glencoe is a Glen in the
Scottish Highlands. He also
bears the markings of his
Scottish heritage with his
Dumfriesshire bloodlines
going back to Dumfriesshire
Porter 80. Mr. Jefford’s
Andrews Bridge
hounds used him in 1986,
bring The famous Black ‘n
Tan color and voice to the
American Pack.
Glissen
Gleeman’s name is taken
from his Great-great
grandfather Mooreland
Gleeman 00. He was a
grand, up-standing hound
who was Sire to WHH
Viagra 08. Marc Dradge,
former WHH Huntsman,
praised him for his finding
abilities. He has the size
feet to follow in his footsteps.
Glenna
Gloucester is the Major
City in Gloucestershire,
England. The name also
came from the Duke of
Gloucester, who was the
brother of Henry V. There
are also sibling links to the
Blue Ridge Gloucester on
the Female line.
Glamour
Glider
This pup bears the name of
the Blencathra Glider 78–
a very influential Fell
Hound in the Modern
English foxhound breeding
of the 1980’s. Our huntsman
hunted Glider’s siblings
in the early 80s.
Their black and white
coloring has carried over
via his Sire WHH Roland 16.
This pup carries her lines
back to the Fell Hounds via
Cotswold Glencoyne 84
back to Blencathra Glider.
But did you know that
Glencoyne Farm in the Lake
district was the inspiration
for a William Wordsworth
poem?
Glamour is a lovely girl
with a blue eye which we
believe comes from a long
way back from July Hounds
and the Midland Hunt in
Georgia. She surely is a
glamorous little hound.
Glenmere
Glenmere has a blue eye
from her July ancestry and
the Tricolor from her
English roots. The Glenmere,
the former home of
the Goelet fox hunting
family, is now a luxury inn.
Her coat Glissen’s (old
English to shine) in the
sun and with her Female
line running back to Blue
Ridge Glissen 04 She is
as bright as a button and
NEVER misses a trick.
T he Female line though Golden’s Bridge P line from WHH Padlock 15
includes Golden’s Bridge Phoenix 12, the Virginia Hound Show champion,
who is the litter brother to GBH Pippa 12 and tracing back to some very
well-bred PMD hunting lines. So whether you take the English X American
lines or their PMD lines, they are breed to hunt with good voice and drive. We
can’t wait ‘till next season to see how they enter. Any sponsor will be proud
to back such hounds in the show ring or the field.
