Sometimes we all just need
a little inspiration. Nixa
Junior High faculty traveled
to Crestview Middle School
just outside of St. Louis.
During their visit, it was
evident that reading was a
big part of their routine.
NJH took action and implemented a mandatory 10-15 (all faculty and students) reading-time every day.
Since this initiative, there has been a clear and apparent change in reading amongst the students.
JROTC Places 5th at VEX
Nixa JROTC competed in their first VEX Robotics competition of the
season where they finished 5th out of 25 teams. The team is
comprised of AJ McNeal (Driver), Aiden Ewald (Co-Driver), Caelyn
Bainto, Ariel Sheckley, Jay Vo (Driver), Hunter Greenwalt, and Micah
Cranfield.
Teacher Academy
Nixa High School has
created a new program,
the Teacher Academy,
where seniors can get
professional experience
by working alongside
teachers in the
classroom. This is a dual
credit course and is a
part of the Family and
Consumer Sciences
(FACS) curriculum.
STOMPing out Bullying
High Pointe students wrote and drew positive messages in chalk
outside of the school for kids to see as they walk into the building.
STOMP Out Bullying and Kindness in Chalk Day was a day for kids
to wear blue and talk about the importance of spreading kindness
to STOMP out bullying.
