Q & A with Beth Clippard
Beth has been a teacher for 21 years, which means she has
quite a bit of wisdom to impart. We asked her some
questions about being her and her life as a teacher.
In your years of teaching, what is one memory you will cherish forever?
There are so many, but I always cherish seeing former students who remember
how I made them feel when I was their teacher.
Why teaching?
Teaching provides you with the opportunity to impact and make a difference
in the lives of children in the hopes that they will become lifelong learners.
Why is learning so important?
We never stop learning, and when we learn, we try new ideas/experiences and
grow in confidence as individuals.
What is something that motivates you each day?
My family and the challenge of teaching and the relationships that I have
made with my students.
What do your students teach you?
Patience, grace, and unadulterated joy!
What is the hardest life lesson you have ever had to learn?
That each day is a gift, never take it for granted. Eat the cake, buy the shoes, take the trip and use the good china!
If you could have any superpower, what would yours be?
To be able to see into the future.
When someone describes you, what would you like to hear them say?
It’s not necessarily what I would want them to say, but rather how I made them feel. I hope I made them feel welcomed and appreciated.
If you could invent any golden rule, what would it be?
It’s pretty hard to beat the original Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
What is the best piece of advice you have to offer?
This too shall pass and enjoy the moments. It’s all about creating memories!
If your pet could talk, what would they say about you?
“You’re the only one who really gets me!”
If there was a movie made about your life, who would play you?
Sally Field
If you had to pick a color that you would be, what is it?
Purple
