WHY BE ON STAFF
Each year, Praying Pelican Missions
hosts teams in over 25 locations
across the US and internationally.
In order to host these teams well
and enable them to serve their
local partnerships to the best of
their abilities, we need a strong and
dedicated staff. It takes a creative,
hard working team to facilitate the
logistics of the trips and to walk trip
participants through the experience.
Our staff is one of the key ingredients
that make our trips successful.
Not only is being a part of PPM’s
staff impactful, but it’s fun too! Check

DONNELL
I have served with Praying Pelican
Missions for three years now as both
an Assistant Trip Leader and a Trip
Leader. As someone who is both in
school and in the workforce, PPM is a
great fit during the summer months
when life gets less busy for me! It’s
been a blessing to serve and host
teams in my hometown of Chicago
for the past three years. I am very
passionate about the city of Chicago
and being a part of the change that
happens here - it’s the main reason
why the vast majority of my trips have
been served in Chicago!
My favorite part about working with
PPM is the trip participants. They
often come from very different walks
of life from those of the people they
come to serve. They come with
good hearts, but typically have some
reservations. It’s a joy to see them
- through service, education, and
relationship - begin to break down
some of the stigmas they hold about
Chicago and its people, leaving with
a changed heart and an informed
mind. The more they learn and the
more they grow in relationship with
the host church/community, the
better servants they become! If you
are considering working with PPM, be
in prayerful consideration about your
“why.” Once you’ve thought about
your purpose (and figured out the
time in your schedule), you too can be
a part of change both at home
and abroad!
