Power of Partnership
At PPM, we consider ourselves to be
bridge builders and we make it our
mission to build connections that
unite the local Church in ministry. Here
is what one of our local church leaders
said about working with us.
IT’S THE LOCAL CHURCH
I would have to believe that most
mission groups come into the field
all fired up to do God’s work and to
mirror His disciples, even if it’s just
for one week. The beautiful thing
about PPM is that hearts are changed
forever - both the hearts of those
discipling and the hearts of those
being discipled. The advantage that
Praying Pelican utilizes is partnering
with local churches. Through various
programs set up throughout the
week by PPM, the mission team is
able to come into contact with many
people within the community with
the intention of leaving the mark of
Jesus on their hearts. These programs
are or can be established within the
local church, like food banks and/or
clothing drives. They also can be a
form of community outreach to help
the church families through services
that they may not be able to get or
afford on their own. The 2019 EHCA
Senior Mission Trip to Clendenen,
WV was a week jam-packed with
community outreach and service, and
that’s a really great thing; but more
importantly, knowing that the United
Methodist Church would remain
as a steadfast cornerstone in the
community after our mission group
left was truly one of the reasons why
the mission work was so successful.
The church portrays to the community
that it will be there for them always,
just as Jesus assures us that He is with
us forever and will never forsake us.
- Christy, Appalachia Group Leader
