WHAT BEING
LED
A client recently asked how we select the
stories for Everything Brevard magazine.
The easiest answer: I am led.
We publish six magazines a year, so we look at what is
happening seasonally, events, topics and themes. Our
writers and contributors offer suggestions, and as I meet
people, I listen for opportunities and lessons that people
are willing to share.
Nothing happens by accident. We fumble when we lose
faith but if we show up, do the work and “believe,” it
always works out and we end up telling a beautiful story.

As we wrap up this
March issue and send
it to the printer, I am
reminded of what an
amazing community
I live in. The last
45 days have been
filled with numerous
opportunities.
Traveling to Tallahassee
for the 4 Chamber
Fly-In was amazing.
You will read about our
trip in this magazine.
The most exciting part
was seeing so many
community leaders
advocating for a better
Brevard.
At the risk of being
vulnerable and sounding naïve, I have never
really been interested in government, but this
was both fascinating and eye-opening. I have
come to understand the importance of this
function and how it all comes together. I am
thankful for those who are driven to champion
our community at this capacity.
March is Women’s History Month and we
are excited to share the stories of five amazing
women in our community who are leading
the way in industries that have typically been
dominated by men. Each has a different outlook
on the work they do, but outside the office,
they are very much alike. All have a passion for
giving back to the community and setting an
example for future generations. I’m certain you
will be as inspired as I am after reading these
stories.
And finally, I have started my second term as
the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors at
The Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce.
We are off to a great start. We held a Speed
Networking event in January, our Health and
Wellness Expo is in March, and May is our
signature event — The Mayor’s Breakfast.
Our Trustee Mingle, started last year, has been
a huge success. Celebrating those who believe in
our work at the Chamber has inspired others to
get on board as trustees. I am a huge believer in
going where your customers and prospects go or
are likely to go, and the Chamber of Commerce
is the best place to start, especially at a highlevel
event.
I am proud to say that EverythingBrevard.com
is a member of all four Brevard County
Chambers of Commerce and we work with each
one in a different capacity, based on strengths.
All Chamber CEOs are contributors in this
magazine. They share insights and highlights
from around their communities, plus tips and
strategies for business success. What I love most
is they all work together to champion Brevard.
Collaboration is key.
