HOMETOWN
HORIZON WEST by David Rowe
Strolling through your very own master-planned
village, you are an early adopter of Central
Florida's hometown of the future. You beat the rest
of the world to Horizon West - one of the fastest growing
residential communities in the nation!
Where do you really live?
Your mail may say Windermere, Orlando or Winter
Garden, but W.O.W., there's more to it than that! Don't let
the post office define where you live or who you are. Your
hometown, like your imagination, has no limits. Horizon
West is part of unincorporated Orange County, which is
beyond the boundaries of any of the nearby cities whose
zip codes we use. The county provides our emergency and
utility services, but it is up to us to create our own sense of
place and belonging and to show our Horizon West pride.
No one in our region has a better view of the limitless possibilities
of what tomorrow will bring because Horizon West is
more than a master-planned development; it's an attitude.
It's a sense of pride that all of us who live here share in this
new and developing hometown we call our own.
In Horizon West, we love community. Whether on foot
or cycle, we strike out to seize the day and greet our
neighbors from around the world.
In Horizon West, we love imagination. Never constrained
by the limits of the present, we lean into the future.
In Horizon West, we love life. Having sprung from orange
groves, we cultivate, nourish and grow ourselves, others
and the world around us.
No matter which post office delivers your mail, the
fact is that none of us here live in the city limits of
Windermere, Orlando or Winter Garden. Orange
County has carved out a special place for us, a special unincorporated
place for its future – Horizon West.
Unincorporated? I prefer Limitless! No city services or tax
dollars for events or economic development – no problem.
We have the unique opportunity to get involved and be
a part of creating so many details of our own developing
community. At over 32 square miles, Horizon West is larger
than Manhattan, two-thirds the size of San Francisco
and almost as large as our most magical neighbor. So, no
matter your village, your hometown needs you to:
Meet your neighbors, participate in HW events,
learn our area's history and tell the world
you're proud to be a Horizon Wester.
Discover and implement habits that will make Horizon West
the living, working and playing community you want it to
be. Be the person that starts the next HW club.
Enjoy Life
Walk to a shop, bike to a local restaurant, connect online
and in person to find your people through
HW clubs and groups.
It won't be long before the rest of the world is on our doorstep.
We'll welcome them when they get here, just as we
were welcomed when we arrived. And they will reap the
fruit of the seeds we sow. When someone asks you where
you live, tell them: "Horizon West is my home! "
