LOCATION, LOCATION,
LOCATION
In real estate terms, it’s all about
location. And St. Petersburg take
the prize. Part of the St. Petersburg-
Tampa-Clearwater Tampa Bay
Metro Region, St. Pete is located on
the southern tip of a peninsula and
surrounded by water.
To the west is the beautiful Gulf of
Mexico, with spectacular sunsets,
award-winning white sandy
beaches and deep sea shing. To
Bay,
a natural harbor prized by sailors,
paddle boarders and kayakers,
and known for dolphins and
manatees.
The downtown waterfront – nearly
11 miles of tree-lled parks – is
a great source of local pride.
Unlike many cities, St. Petersburg’s
valuable waterfront parkland
remains protected for public use
and undeveloped. St. Petersburg’s
forefathers set it aside early in
the city’s development – in 1910
– and residents are passionate
about keeping it as a community
gathering place for special events,
tness activities and open space.
“I grew up here and it used to be
that people would come to St.
Petersburg and go to the beach,
or shop in Tampa or Sarasota,”
says Mike Harting, owner of 3
Daughter Brewery, a pioneer
in the St. Pete’s craft brewery
scene and one of the top two
independent brewers in the state.
“Now, St. Petersburg itself is the
destination and one of the reasons
is the downtown waterfront. There
is always something going on. It’s
exciting to be part of it.”
