Garden & Park City
Community gardens, school gardens,
botanical gardens and even
an urban hydroponic farm – St. Pete
embraces the idea of locally grown
produce for healthy living. Brick
Street Farms is a small commercial
hydroponic farm located in the city’s
Warehouse Arts District with produce
grown in climate controlled,
refurbished shipping containers.
Eco Village is a nonprot, community
garden in the heart of the city
offering fresh produce, workshops
in sustainable living practices and
volunteer opportunities.

temperature of 73 degrees
and 361 days of sunshine, St.
Petersburg is the ideal setting
for outdoor festivals and
indie markets of all kinds. “St.
Petersburg is a happening place.
It’s not unusual that at least three
or four things are going on that
I would like to do,” says Meg
Gimmi, who came to St. Pete
from New Jersey with her partner
Lon Ethington six years ago. Both
are avid sailors and members of
the St. Petersburg Sailing Center,
a long-time St. Pete landmark.
