representing all faiths, from

Baha’i, Quaker and Unitarian
Universalist. Organizations are
all over the bay area, from Pass-a-

HEALTHCARE
St. Petersburg is known for its top
quality health care and has several
highly rated hospitals offering
care to infants, children, teens and
adults. Johns Hopkins All Children’s
Hospital, a leading specialized
pediatric academic hospital and research
center, and Bayfront Health
St. Petersburg, part of Community
Healthy Systems, are anchors in the
city’s new and evolving Innovation
District, a growing hub of medical,
life science and marine science
organizations. Johns Hopkins All
Children’s has 12 regional hospital
afliates in six counties and is the
only pediatric hospital on Florida’s
West Coast that is ranked as a U.S.
News & World Report Best Children’s
Hospital.
Additional major full-service hospitals
in the area include St. Anthony’s
Hospital, which is a member of
the local nonprot BayCare Health
System; and three HCA West Florida
Hospitals: Northside Hospital,
Palms of Pasadena Hospital and
St. Petersburg General Hospital.
St. Pete also has a strong commitment
to providing care for
the elderly. There are numerous
long-term care facilities, assisted
living centers and rehab hospitals.
In addition, the city is a hub for

NONPROFITS
The ‘Burg supports dozens of
local and national charitable
organizations, all of which offer

Guide Dogs
numerous volunteer opportunities.
A few of the many organizations
beneting animals include SPCA
Tampa Bay, Southeast Guide
Dogs, and Friends of Strays. CASA
(Community Action Stops Abuse)
provides shelter and support for
women and children affected
by domestic violence. Boyd Hill
Nature Park volunteers assist with
environmental education and
gardening, animals and with the
park’s birds of prey center. There
are also a wealth of arts-related
volunteer opportunities at local
museums and performing arts
centers. In addition, Creative Clay
is an innovative arts organization
benetting adults with disabilities.
