its academic programs and build
new residential dorms to meet the

Nearby, the University of South
Florida College of Marine Science
has an international reputation
for its outstanding graduate level
program and research in ocean
science. The college has notable
expertise in a number of marinerelated
areas, including sustainable
sheries, red tide, coral reef
health, sea level rise and coasting
ooding. The R/V Weatherbird II,
the agship of the Florida Institute
of Oceanography, is based at the
marine college.
