The Great Gatsby
The Jesuit Masque
performs the
American classic to
sold-out audiences
The Jesuit Masque brought an
American classic to life with its
spring production of “The Great
Gatsby” from April 12-14 in the Multi-Purpose
Room on campus.
The acclaimed shows played before
sold-out audiences each night to rave
reviews. “Gatsby” featured veteran Jesuit
stage performers George Morgan ’18 as
Jay Gatsby, Riley Buchanan ’20 as Nick
Carraway, Tyler Peterson ’18 as Tom
Buchanan, Harrison Redd ’18 as Meyer
Wolfsheim, and Jack Mahoney ’18 as
George Wilson.
A host of other Jesuit and Academy of
the Holy Names students were part of
the ensemble cast, which was the largest
for a Jesuit production in years, said
Jesuit's theatre director, Richard Miller.
The renowned novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald,
set among the wealthy elite on
Long Island in the Roaring Twenties, has
been adapted many times onto the big
screen and stage, most recently in the
2013 movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Masque performed the 2006 stage
version by Simon Levy.
