Steven Suarez ’69 recently retired after
38 years serving in the federal government
and private industry. During his
career Suarez served as Countermeasures
Branch Chief United States Secret
Service, Section Chief Technology
Development for the Bureau of Diplomatic
Security – Countermeasures
Directorate, and Design Engineer
Electronic Warfare Simulators for the
defense industry. Suarez served as his
agency’s representative to Counter

Lincoln Tamayo ’78 announced
plans for a 3rd Academy Prep
school in Lakeland, scheduled to
open in June of 2019, which will
add to the current Academy Prep
schools in Tampa and St. Petersburg.
Tamayo is the vice president of
operations at Academy Prep, whose
successful 5th to 8th grade model
serves students qualifying for needbased
scholarships.
