Community Hero and donates $1 million to
Jesuit’s ‘For Greater Glory’ campaign

Community Heroes
since the program’s
inception in 2011-12
It has been a season of
amazing generosity for
Dan Doyle Jr. ’89.
On April 30, the Tampa
Bay Lightning honored
Doyle and his father, Dan
Doyle Sr., as Lightning
Community Heroes during
Game 2 of their playoff
series vs. the Boston
Bruins.
The Doyles, who received
a $50,000 donation from
the Lightning Foundation
and the Lightning Community
Heroes program,
have donated the money
to the National Pediatric
Cancer Foundation and
Special Operations Warrior
Foundation.
Two months earlier,
Doyle was recognized by
Jesuit for an extraordinary
donation to the school.
At Gaudiosa on Feb. 24,
school president Fr. Richard
C, Hermes, S.J. announced
a transformational $1
million gift by Doyle to
the school's $40 million
'For Greater Glory' capital
campaign.
Doyle, the co-founder
and CEO of DEX Imaging, is
the youngest ever to make
a gift of $1 million or more
to Jesuit. For years he has
demonstrated exemplary
leadership in helping
advance the mission of
Jesuit. At Gaudiosa before
more than 600 fellow
Jesuit supporters, Doyle
and his wife, Nicole, were
recognized by the school
for their generosity and
'For
Greater Glory’ campaign.
Doyle and his father
co-founded Dex Imaging
in 2002, and they've
commitment to giving
2/3rds of their company's
Doyles have given gener-
locally including Academy
Prep, Morton Plant Mease
Hospital, R'Club Child Care,
and PARC Florida.
Just a few days after he was
recognized as a Community
Hero by the Tampa
Bay Lightning on March 20,
Dr. Brian McEwen ’70 passed
away after a battle with cancer.
McEwen’s $50,000 award
from the Lightning went to the
for Children, where he was
Executive Director. McEwen,
who earned a Ph.D. in applied
anthropology, started his
career counseling families
with disturbed children and
juveniles. At Champions for
Children he helped operate
their 11 programs for children
and adults, honing the
abuse prevention through education
programs for parents.
