WRESTLING The Tigers, led by head coach Sal Basile in his 3rd season, won the
District title for the 10th time in the past 12 seasons. They actually won the District
twice, as this season the FHSAA added the District Duals along with the traditional
Luke Surak '18 (120), Ethan Basile '20 (145), Patrick Eberly '18 (170), Eli Davenport
'18 (195), and Mason Arnold '21 (220). Arnold and Tim Eberly ’20 (160) along with
Basile advanced to State. Basile had a historic season, winning every match until
60-1. Arnold also placed 4th at 220 pounds in the NHSCA Freshman Nationals. And
like basketball and soccer, the wrestling team is performing at a very high level in
Champion standings.

BASKETBALL The Tigers, led by

season, made it seven straight seasons
as District champions, defeating
Robinson for the title and the winning
47-46 before falling to Sarasota Booker
the District and went 2-1 for the second
straight year at the St. Pius X Christmas
Tournament in Atlanta. An ankle injury
sustained in Atlanta cost star point
guard Thierry Moliere ’18 (13 ppg, 4.0
rpg, 3.3 apg, 2,0 spg) a dozen games,
but several players picked up the slack
including Nick Weir ’18 (12.1 ppg, 4.0
rpg, 2.8 apg), Jack Cooper ’19 (11.3 ppg,
8.3 rpg) and Ryan Radke ’18 (7.6 ppg,
3.2 apg). The team also excelled in
the classroom, earning the FHSAA’s
Academic Team Champion state title
highest team GPA.

SOCCER The Tigers, led by head
coach Eric Sims ’95 in his 5th season,
28-2 and outscoring opponents
99-14. Ranked in the Top 10 nationally
for much of the season, Jesuit won
the District title for the 32nd time in
the past 34 years and captured the
inaugural Tampa Bay Invitational,
defeating Strake Jesuit of Houston 1-0
in the championship game on a goal by
Region Final in a penalty shootout to
Merritt Island. Lucas Gobea ’20 led the
offense with 17 goals, Jeffrey Mass-
