that you REALLY want.
Nestled right below the bustling family-centric shore hub of Point Pleasant,
Lavallette is just north of the nationally known pop culture icon, Seaside Heights.
A quiet little community untainted by the Jersey Shore stereotype, Lavallette is
within minutes of famous shore destinations, making it easy to visit the boardwalk
for the evening and then come back and have a quiet night on the porch of your
Lavallette home-away-from-home.
Lavallette is a beach town of just under one square mile that boasts eight protected beaches on the Atlantic side
and two family-friendly beaches on the Barnegat Bay side. One gets the far-away feel of Key West, Florida, when
exploring this tiny community. Renters can park their car and never worry about putting the key in the ignition
again during their stay as they walk the quiet early morning streets to get their fresh baked goods at Colonial
Bakery on Grand Central Ave. This time-honored family-owned business has been baking up their own fresh
recipes in-house since 1969.
After a long day at the pristine beaches, feel the pull of tradition as the local community gathers up their lawn
chairs and blankets and strolls over to watch one of the very few unobstructed sunsets on the Barnegat Bay.
The town sponsors events all year long including The Patriotic Bike Parade and Christmas in July BBQ in
the summer months, as well as Founders Day, a Halloween Parade and Celebration, the Annual Hometown
Christmas Weekend and the Lavallette Ugly Christmas Sweater Run in the off season. The borough offers tennis,
bocce, shuffleboard, basketball and in-line skating opportunities on the mainland, while Barnegat Bay provides
fishing, crabbing, swimming, boating, sailing, windsurfing and other water sports.
The town also hosts concerts, fireworks, and Movies on the Bay, held at the Centennial Gazebo and Gardens
located at Philadelphia Avenue and the bay front. Lavallette is off of exit 82A North on the Garden State Parkway
or Exit 88 South. Visit www.lavallette-nj.com or call 732-793-7474.
